L. Dean Weaver Company has become one of the most respected firms of its kind by striving to maintain the highest standards of quality, integrity, and superior customer service.

The company’s founder and president, Dean Weaver, learned these values and the importance of hard work early in his life. He began his career in the heavy construction business at age 13, when his father put him to work operating a dragline. He soon fell in love with the industry, and quickly realized that he wanted to establish and operate his own successful construction company.

His dream came true in 1975, when he founded L. Dean Weaver Company, Inc. without any outside financial assistance. The company went on to obtain its Contractor’s License in 1976 and, shortly thereafter, joined the Carolina’s Branch of the Associated General Contractors of America.

In 1978, The South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation awarded L. Dean Weaver Company its first road construction project. Today, the company has unlimited Contractor’s Licenses in South Carolina and North Carolina. The company also has approval to perform road construction from the state highway departments in both South Carolina and North Carolina.

Today, L. Dean Weaver Company does work in all phases of heavy construction – including site development, road construction, storm drainage, beach renourishment, water and sewer plants, and much more. From its humble beginnings, with a staff of only two in 1975, the company has now grown to include more than 75 employees and an equipment inventory of more than $5 million. In addition, the company has achieved one of the best safety records of any organization in the heavy construction business.

Dean Weaver attributes this success to the efforts of his company’s skilled operators, dedicated superintendants, and experienced office personnel. This talented team includes L. Dean Weaver’s three sons – Lyniel, Chad, and Justin Weaver.
